They are the true guests of our Sanctuary since they have their home in our facilities and we dedicate all our efforts and care to them.
They are the true guests of our Sanctuary since they have their home in our facilities and we dedicate all our efforts and care to them.
The rabbits of the Sanctuary have their own facilities and feed on natural vegetation allowing them to lead a long life because, in the Sanctuary, we never use our animals for food.
In the "Wendy Clements" Animal Sanctuary lives the famous donkey GALILEO. He was picked up by the police and handed over to us by the Huelva City Council. This donkey has made headlines all over the world because he behaves like a dog! He is also the leader of the team of donkeys that work clearing crops of plants to avoid the use of pesticides. This project is called "Donkeys and Geese Against Glyphosate".
LEONOR, the donkey, also lives with us and is known to assist with Asnotherapy, which is a therapy technique combining exercises and games between gentle, loving animals and people who need psychological support. Leonor has a lot of energy and never stops running!
From the Association "El Burrito Feliz" we have the female donkey "Lluvia". She is very young and is being educated to join the team for Asnotherapy. At the moment she just wants to jump and run and so we must be patient.
The horse "Comanche" is a veteran. He joined us after being retired following an operation on his hoof which left him unable to lead a working life. Now he lives happily and carefree.
Our pony "Coco" is now in our care, after being rescued by the police, when abandoned on a highway. "Coco" is very individualistic but with a good heart and loves unsweetened apples and cookies.
The dogs that live in the Sanctuary lead a free and happy existence with lots of space to run around and, in addition, we are neutering them to avoid uncontrolled reproduction.
Goats, like our friend "Dora", are tremendously mischievous and full of character – their only thoughts are about playing and eating all the flowers in our garden.
