In our Sanctuary we often rescue hedgehogs that have been weakened or poisoned by agricultural pesticides; birds that have been injured or shot, salamanders collected from domestic homes and some foxes found in a human environment – we then return these animals to the wild.
We don’t keep any wild animals, our purpose is to collect them and bring them back to health before releasing them to their natural habitat. If necessary, we take them to official animal rescue centres, such as CREA (Endangered Species Recovery Centres).
It is an exhausting but wonderful task with the satisfaction of being able to return these happy creatures to their natural homes.
